ABOUT US
The Galveston County Buyers Group was created in 2023 to increase the community support for all Galveston County students at the Galveston County Fair. Increasing numbers of FFA and 4H Chapters are organized rural and urban areas, and unfortunately the surrounding communities are not aware of their programs.
Why we created GCBG
Each year there are hundreds of students who participate in the Galveston County Fair by exhibiting FFA or 4-H livestock projects. These students are learning valuable life skills and responsibility through their projects. The Galveston County Buyers Group was created to increase the community support for all students at the Fair.
By supporting these students at the Livestock Auctions and helping with non-sale animals, we are investing in our County’s future. These students use the money they receive at the auctions for basically three things: education, starting a new project, or supporting an existing project. In some cases the FFA and 4-H programs provide the leadership opportunities for students that are not in band or sports.
